GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) is an infinite scrolling, performed and endured by a human being who is inevitably a performer. It is the constant flow of countless pieces of information coursing through a single body. It is a battlefield between the visceral and the virtual, between the materiality of flesh and the weightless fluidity of data. It is the unexpected emergence of the human component—the “non-performative”—which is accidentally revealed in the interstices of the choreographic device.

GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) is a performative investigation that asks the question: what happens if the entire flow of information that we experience every day is poured, relentlessly, onto a single body? What if a single individuality were to wear and embody the standards dictated by the constant interconnection and super-performativity of the present?

GOOD VIBES ONLY (the great effort) is the second chapter of the GOOD VIBES ONLY trilogy, a networked project that stems from the desire to explore the phenomenon of scrolling through the body. A single, repetitive, obsessive gesture that the twenty-first-century human performs automatically hundreds of times a day. An action that, in its simplicity and reduced physical amplitude, opens a chasm of existential, political, sociological, and ethical questions about the contemporary world. The project originated from an observation of the social network TikTok, which began in 2022, and a series of key questions: how can we transfer the logic of digital scrolling from the screen to the body? How can we recreate the viewing mechanism of the social network on stage? And what implications arise from this?
